The Call of Abundance

Each chapter of Part Two of Genesis Meditations begins with a retelling of one section of the Middle Eastern creation story in contemporary languge, drawing primarily on the Genesis story, but including threads from later Jewish, Christian and Islamic traditions. The intention of this part is to "re-hear" the story as it might be told by a storyteller today. This is the "stereo picture" of our shared creation story. Each is illustrated by the acclaimed Sufi artist Fatima Lassar. Following this, the reader finds voices from the Jewish, Christian and Islamic traditions speaking about the spiritual practice of creation.
